Chamaeleo Renewable Energy Fund invests in renewable energy projects which are at attractive market-entry levels and directly reduce greenhouse gases.  Chamaeleo’s initial fund is targeting opportunities in the renewable natural gas sector where methane is captured from livestock manure and landfill diverted food waste and converted into biogas which is further refined into renewable natural gas and injected into pipelines. Once in the pipeline grid, this renewable natural gas is eligible to participate in the California renewable energy market. The state’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) provides incentives for fuel producers to increase the amount of low-carbon or renewable fuels they supply and sell.
